Final ratings for The Tomorrow People 0.4/1 1.24
Unfortunately, despite yet another excellent episode The Tomorrow People hit a series low.
(1) Word of Mouth
The problem with tweeting is that it is very difficult to trend and even when we manage to, it is generally for only a relatively short period. The effect is that our twitter campaign ends up only reaching those who already tune in. Instead, fans need to reach out to former viewers and let them know how much the show has progressed. This is most crucial in the US, because the CW Network makes no revenue from international views, only the studio benefits.
Spread the word! We need as many people tuning in live as possible on the CW Network. The best way is word of mouth, so tell your friends to catch up during the break and tune in on Monday March 17th.
(2) Boycott The 100 and encourage other fans to do the same.
I hate to say it but I also recommend not tuning in to The 100 which is CW's new post-apocalyptic show. Since it is highly unlikely that the CW will renew both TTP and The 100, CW is forcing us to choose and naturally I choose The Tomorrow People. The 100 takes TTP's slot on Wednesdays and it's clear that the CW has high hopes for the show, intending it to replace TTP. A poor turn out on Wednesday 19th March for The 100 would dash the CW's hopes and greatly increase our prospects of a season 2 for The Tomorrow People.
(3) Express your dissatisfaction with CW's lack of promotion
Lastly, tweet (@cw_network) and write to the CW letting them know The Tomorrow People is a proven hit internationally largely due to good promotion. By extension it is clearly losing viewers in the US because of inadequate and underwhelming promotion by their network. There are some great moments ahead and the CW should be teasing further into the show's future as they do in Europe to keep viewers hooked. Longer promotions will also give viewers a better sense of what the show is about and where the show is going, mere 30 seconds snippets just don't cut it.
